Poisson d’Avril Invisible!

Poisson d’Avril drôle de Publicité!

Questions: 1) Compare what Americans typically do for the 4th of July with what the French typically do for the 14th.  What are some similarities?  Any differences?

2) In french, try to tell us something you’ve done to “celebrate” April Fool’s day.  (2 phrases minimum)

C’est tout!  🙂

  1. There really isn’t any differences that I could tell. Except there parade is all military, where ours typically is not.

  2. 1. They call it Quatorze Juillet, and we call it the 4th of July rather than by what we celebrate them by. We both have prarades and celebrate with fireworks at night. They don’t use floats like we do, but rather just those that serve the community- the president, fireman, etc. Our president would get shot if he were in a parade like theirs!

  3. 1)Their fourth of july in france is more public with other nations. But they do have fire works like our fourth of july.

1.There isn’t much differences. The main thing I notice is that in America there isn’t any other national flag in our parades. They go really fast. I don’t think we have any helicopters. We have fireworks as well but not with the Effile. Our colors are similar.
    2.Pour Possion d’Avril j’ai dit j’étais aller s’ habiter avec mon copain. J’ai 15 ans.
    J’ai dit j’étatis homosexuelle.

  5. 1)We americans do similar stuff, like the parades and the fireworks, and the celebrations, but their parades seem a bit more…serious, and military oriented to me. we have the after parties and gatherings just like them, and it also depends on where you are in america because ther may be some places that dont have those festivities.

    1) In the 4th of July American parades are more slow and long and the french on the 14 of July they do there parade quickly and fast. However, in both celebrations we both have fireworks. In seating down and eating the french have big dance parties and music and as for the Americans we have barbarques and the people go to baseball games.

    2) J’essayais mettre botter mon singne farce. That’s it I did not do any more better jokes.

  7. 1) similarities = parade, airplane flying ahead, military in parade???, fireworks on display
differences = president a lot more unprotected, people just standing there, france = no floats (just armed forces), no flags are being waved, france doesn’t seem as energetic, fireworks not as impressive as would be on 4th of july, bal populaire and it’s free

    001. Americans and the French attend parades and watch fireworks. Based on the video, the French parades are more focused on militaries than ours. Also, the French and Americans both have barbecue type events that can last all night =) For the most part, both countries don’t have many differences in the way they celebrate their independence.

    002. J’ai dis ma mere j’ai allee prisen. Elle est tres colere!!

  9. 1. Typically, the 4th of July is synoymous with patriotism and fireworks. They are similar in many ways but I have never ever seen jets flying around coloring the sky with our nation’s colors, but that may be due to the fact that I live in Grand Prairie.

1.] Americans on the 4th of July & the French on the 14th both celebrate with a parade. Americans seem to have a slower parade with floats, while the French have the military flying by, either walking or on cars of some kind. At night, we both end the celebration with fireworks.
